CodeMetrics™ Launch, A QAC Tool from OPS Consulting, LLC

OPS Consulting launched a new QAC Tool this month called CodeMetrics™, available from our online web store.

The Quality Assessment Capability (QAC) is a powerful, effective, state-of-the-art process to quantify the quality of software applications for the purpose of engineering highly reliable and maintainable products. The quality assessment is conducted in a static environment and compares the software measures of the application against other domain specific applications and/or industry standards. The QAC is a highly extensible and flexible methodology which is rapidly adaptable to a variety of customer needs, emerging technologies, and diverse measurement objectives.

Stephen Cummins joins OPS Consulting as Director of Operations and Risk Advisory Services

Stephen Cummins joins OPS Consulting as the company's Director of Operations and Risk Advisory Services in March 2005. With Mr. Cummins joining OPS, the company launches a new service area for Risk Advisory Services to address the needs for companies to comply with Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements for corporate governance. This self-imposed governance is an area that needs expert guidance and help in meeting the complex SOX 404 requirements required for both small and large companies.

Mr. Cummins has 15 years experience in Accounting and Financial Reporting, with an emphasis in Financial Control. Prior to joining OPS, he spent eight years with Citigroup, serving most recently as Director of Accounting Policy, where he led the successful implementation of a program to comply with Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements. Prior to that, he spent five years with Alexander & Alexander Services, where he oversaw the development and implementation of a system designed to monitor the effectiveness of operational and financial controls. Mr. Cummins started his career in the Seattle office of KPMG after receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Seattle University in 1990.

OPS Consulting contracts with Northrop Grumman as a reseller for IT hardware solutions for Government clients

OPS Consulting expands its partnership with Northrop Grumman to provide information technology hardware and software for Northrop Grumman's clients in the Federal Government. OPS has been providing on-site technical consulting support to the intelligence community, under subcontract to Northrop Grumman, since 1999. Now, as an authorized reseller to Northrop for SUN, Dell, HP and other mission-critical equipment, OPS can provide turn-key IT solutions to our end-users, in addition to our reputable software engineering services.

OPS Consulting partners with RightNow Technologies to support DOD/Intel Government market

OPS Consulting, based in Crownsville, Maryland, with offices in Northern Virginia, announced a partnership to provide technical consulting support for RightNow Technologies' CRM software. OPS has been providing on-site technical support to the federal government, under subcontract to Northrop Grumman, for the past fiscal year and is looking to broaden partner alliances with state-of-the-art solutions like RightNow Technologies.

OPS Consulting to perform Payroll Feasibility Study for Maryland Transit Authority

OPS Consulting, LLC was awarded a subcontract to review and make recommendations for a new payroll system at the Maryland Transit Authority. The feasibility study will entail an analysis of the current system, incorporating the Scheduling, Dispatch, and Payroll systems and their interfaces with each other and any other interfaces with the MTA’s Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). Project requirements and objectives will be documented with the assistance of MTA personnel, who will ultimately be using the new payroll system. The study will include an investigation of the leading vendors, who may provide the new Scheduling Function in the MTA’s NEXT System that is to be procured over the next two years. These vendors' scheduling packages will be analyzed to determine any payroll functionality inherent within them and any necessary interfaces to the dispatch and follow-on payroll systems. This is just one of several high-level consulting projects OPS Consulting has had with the Maryland Transit Authority over the past four years as a trusted advisor to the MTA Program Management Office.

OPS Consulting, LLC, based in Baltimore, Maryland, with offices in Northern Virginia, announced today a partnership to research Software Engineering projects with the Fraunhofer Center for Experimental Software Engineering (CESE) at the University of Maryland. OPS Consulting awarded 3 NSA projects worth $4.8M

OPS Consulting, LLC, with offices in Baltimore, Maryland, and Great Falls, Virginia, recently was awarded 3 separate NSA small-business subcontracts worth $4.8M. As subcontractor under Windermere Information Technology, OPS will provide systems engineering support, project management, software development, and special technical support to the NSA. Northrop Grumman Information Technology contracts with OPS Consulting for CRM project to support NSA

Northrop Grumman Information Technology/Computing Systems selects OPS Consulting for Customer Relationship Management Project Support at NSA. OPS Consulting will provide technical support for the operation and administration of the RightNow Technologies CRM software for a base year, plus two option years. Lans Griffith, Project Manager for Northrop Grumman, states, "OPS is our 'go-to' partner to support our large customer-base when we require specialized technical skills. OPS Consulting awarded contract to develop the Maryland Transit Authority NEXT System Project Management Plan

OPS Consulting, LLC, headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, was awarded a subcontract to write and develop the Maryland Transit Authority (MTA) NEXT System Project Management Plan documents. The NEXT System is to bring electronic message signs to bus stations located throughout Baltimore to inform waiting customers of the next arrival time for their bus.The NEXT System Project Management Plan documents are directed and approved by the MTA Chief Information Officer to ensure that the project objectives align with state-funded budgets and address each project objective across and outside the MTA. The plan includes the Risk Management Plan, Project Management Charter, Information Technology Proposal Request, and documents supporting the Request for Proposal of the final NEXT System. OPS Consulting has been one of the "go-to" management consulting resources for the MTA over the past five years, supporting strategic management projects. Greg Foley, President of OPS Consulting, has expertise with MTA, which originated with the design of the command control room for the Light Rail Double Track expansion back in 2001.
